Business Goal
Transform one of 4Rivers' most recognizable brand assets into a community-driven campaign that encouraged participation while reinforcing the organization's mission of serving the greater good.
Challenge
4Rivers has an iconic visual symbol that guests immediately recognized, but it had always functioned as a static brand element. The opportunity was to evolve that familiar identity into an interactive experience that encouraged authentic participation while remaining true to the company's culture and values.
Strategy
Rather than asking people to consume a message, the campaign invited them to complete it. By intentionally leaving the brand's iconic "Peace, Love, 4" symbol unfinished, guests and team members became active participants—sharing what "the greater good" meant to them and transforming a familiar brand asset into a collective expression of community.
Execution
The familiar Peace, Love, 4 mark was intentionally left incomplete, replacing the word "Rivers" with an open space that invited participation. Guests and team members completed the symbol by writing words that reflected their own values, transforming a static brand asset into a shared experience.
To launch the initiative, I created a documentary-style campaign video that introduced the concept and captured authentic participation inside the restaurants. The activation extended across social media and in-store environments, connecting digital storytelling with physical guest engagement.
Outcome
Reimagined one of the brand's most recognizable visual assets into an interactive campaign
Strengthened emotional connection through authentic guest and team member participation
Unified video, social media, and in-store activation under a single campaign idea
Demonstrated how a simple creative concept could reinforce brand purpose through community engagement
Project Story
Rather than asking guests to simply experience the brand, The Greater Good campaign invited them to become part of it. By transforming an established visual icon into an interactive expression of personal values, the campaign shifted the focus from promotion to participation.
The result was a simple but meaningful activation that connected storytelling, social media, and in-store experiences around a shared idea. Instead of telling people what 4Rivers stood for, it gave them an opportunity to define it for themselves.
