Creative Leadership & Brand Strategy

Creating a more authentic visual language for modern hospitality marketing.

Industry: Hospitality

Role: Multimedia Manager

Contribution: Creative Direction • Brand Photography • Art Direction • Visual Storytelling • Brand Standards

Business Goal

Holiday Inn Club Vacations relied heavily on polished resort photography that showcased amenities but often lacked the warmth and authenticity of a real vacation experience. The goal was to establish a visual language that felt more relatable while strengthening emotional connections with prospective guests.

Challenge

Traditional hospitality photography often documents spaces rather than experiences. The challenge was shifting the focus from showcasing resort amenities to capturing moments that allowed guests to imagine themselves already there.

Strategy

Rather than relying on perfectly staged rooms, the visual language centered on subtle signs of human presence. An open book, a towel draped over a chair, sunglasses by the pool, or a game left on the table introduced authentic moments without requiring people to dominate every frame, allowing guests to complete the story themselves.

Execution

I established the creative direction for a scalable hospitality photography system that balanced architectural photography with environmental storytelling. Every image was intentionally composed to suggest experiences rather than simply showcase amenities, creating a consistent visual language across guest rooms, pools, dining, and resort environments while maintaining a natural, editorial aesthetic.

Outcome

  • Established a more authentic visual language for hospitality marketing

  • Shifted photography from documenting spaces to telling guest-centered stories

  • Created a repeatable photography standard across multiple resort environments

  • Strengthened emotional connection by helping prospective guests imagine themselves in the experience

Project Story

Traditional hospitality photography often celebrates beautiful spaces. While important, those images rarely capture what guests actually remember.

This approach shifted the focus from architecture to experience. Through thoughtful styling, subtle environmental cues, and intentional composition, every image suggested that a vacation was already unfolding rather than waiting to begin.

The result was more than a collection of photographs—it was a visual language that could be applied consistently across resorts, marketing campaigns, and guest communications while creating a stronger emotional connection with the Holiday Inn Club Vacations brand.
